Business Analyst

Job Description	Under general direction, independently works with customers to establish business need and goals and elicits requirements for development of systems solutions for moderately to highly complex projects. Produces functional specifications and obtains customer approval. Acts as liaison between the customer and the development team to determine and deliver the most effective solution. Contributes to the design of systems and planning for systems testing and support. Possesses strong retail or data processing systems background or both.
Responsibilities	Primary responsibilities include gathering and prioritizing business requirements, creating mockups; statistical experience a plus. Individual will serve as a liaison between development teams and business partners and be able to rapidly learn the business processes in order to prioritize required software needs. In the role, the candidate will manage business partner expectations, promoting project communication between the development team and the business partner(s). Assist business partners with definition and prioritization of business requirements, as well as determination of ROI. Candidate will be required to utilize his/her business background in retail merchandising and/or software development to contribute to system solutions. Able to work with multiple business partners, project teams and various applications. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, which requires multitasking and efficient time management. Will be required to participate in both strategic and conceptual discussions, as well as address detailed/tactical activities.
Required Skills	·          5+ years as a business analyst in a software development environment. ·          Must possess a very strong merchant background, with in-depth knowledge of the retail business process, calculations and data. ·          Excellent capability to develop effective working relationships with business partner(s) ·          Excellent skills in translating business partner needs and issues into an client project ·          Excellent verbal/written communication skills ·          Excellent negotiation and facilitation skills ·          Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across functional lines and at many levels ·          Excellent organizational and problem solving skills ·          Excellent collaboration and teamwork skills ·          Business background in retail merchandising and/or software development ·          Advanced skills with Visio, Powerpoint, Word and Excel ·          Knowledge and experience with Merchandising systems required
